Kris Shank Zehr has sung with the Bach Festival Choir since 1995 and accepted the role of choir manager in 2019. She has fond memories of bringing her two young children to noon concerts in the festival’s early years and is delighted that they both continue to participate in the festival in various ways. Kris also works for Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir, managing SVCC’s music library, producing concert program books, assisting with the young Explorers classes, all of which provide an excellent outlet for her love of music, words, and detailed organizing. Kris recently joined the women’s vocal ensemble Shekinah, loves to usher with her family at the American Shakespeare Center, relishes chopping vegetables for large batches of seasonal soups, and is leaning into life as parent of young adults.
