INSTRUMENT PETTING ZOO

Join musicians of the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival for an “Instrument Petting Zoo” at the Explore More Discovery Museum in downtown Harrisonburg. This event is part of the museum’s First Friday Free program, so there is no admission charge from 4 to 7pm.

Children will hear musicians perform and then get to try instruments like the violin, recorder, trombone, and tambourine. There will also be two instrument making stations and other fun activities, not to mention all of the wonderful permanent exhibits!

DISCOVERING BACH

A talented quartet of JMU string students coached by Bach Festival principal violist Diane Phoenix-Neal will present a concert designed for children of all ages.  Masterworks by J.S. Bach and other classical composers will be featured.  We’ll also highlight great children’s literature available in the library that relates to our program.  This concert is FREE and open to the public!
