Sam Showalter is an Eastern Mennonite University graduate of 1965 with an MD degree from VCU and 50 years of experience in family medicine.  He sang in large and small groups at EMHS, EMU and with the Shenandoah Valley Choral Society for many years.  He is a member of the Valley Table Singers and the Harrisonburg Mennonite men’s quartet, the BridgeBuilders. 

He is the founder and executive director of the Harmonia Sacra Society, a local non-profit organization formed to preserve and promote the legacy of the Joseph Funk family of Singers Glen, Va and their Harmonia Sacra hymnbook. 

He and his wife, Jan Suter have 2 daughters and 5 grandchildren, all musically talented.  His hobbies are photography and musical recording.
