Kris Shank Zehr has sung with the Bach Festival Chorus and attended or ushered nearly all festival concerts since 1995. Both of her children have grown up attending festival concerts and now join her in the chorus. This year, Kris is glad to put her experience, enthusiasm, and organizational skills to use as choir manager for the Bach Festival.

A piano performance graduate of EMU’s music program, Kris is in her fifteenth year as a recital accompanist with EMU’s Preparatory Music Program. At her day job for the Shenandoah Valley Children’s Choir, she is music librarian, trip coordinator, concert program book producer, and liaison for SVCC’s youngest students in Explorers classes.

Kris enjoys singing with JMU’s early music ensemble, Valley Collegium Musicum. Other interests include ushering with her family at the American Shakespeare Center and her current project of organizing a local singing of Thomas Tallis’ 40-part motet, Spem in Alium.
